Nissan Leaf Nismo RC racing car launched at CES 2019 with twice the power

According to Carscoops, the electric car model is a product of the Nismo racing car development department to demonstrate the zero-emission technology potential of the Japanese auto brand.

In terms of design, the front of the car has been completely redesigned with Nissan’s signature V-motion grille combined with an extended hood. The highlight lies in the red decorative lines that stand out on the glossy silver paint background.

Nismo RC weighs 1,220 kg thanks to a monocoque chassis made from carbon fiber. A low center of gravity creates the feeling that the vehicle is in a constant state of motion.

Leaf Nismo RC is equipped with a pair of electric motors located on two axles, producing 326 horsepower and 640Nm of torque. Besides, there is a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery and full-time four-wheel drive system.

Nissan claims: All-wheel drive gives the Leaf Nismo RC superior cornering ability. The car needs 3.4 seconds to accelerate from 0-100km/h, a 50% improvement compared to the previous generation.

After CES 2019, the Nissan Leaf Nismo RC will be displayed at Formula E races and a number of different exhibitions around the world.
